After-Care

Permanent Makeup After-Care

BROW CONSTRUCT LONG-TERM CARE

Use good sunscreen daily- sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics & may irritate even years later. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, chemical face peel products & laser treatments must be kept away from tattooed areas as continued use can influence the pigment's color and retention.

When planning chemical exfoliation, or other medical procedures such as laser resurfacing or laser hair removal please inform your physician/ technician of your cosmetic tattoo (laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area).

Be sure to schedule a maintenance session every 12-18 months or as needed to ensure consistent quality of work.

Approximate Healing Expectations

  • Day 1/2 – the initial look of permanent makeup services is 20-60% darker, bolder & more solid than what your healed results will present. There may be minimal swelling or redness.

  • Day 3- eyebrows may begin to itch & the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Do not pick, scratch, or rub!!!

  • Day 4-6 treated area is now rapidly exfoliating & if left alone will shed evenly. The pigment in the skin will appear lighter until the dermis is fully healed & becomes more transparent.

  • Day 30-40 eyebrows have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration, the tattoo has now settled in the dermis, seen under the epidermis. This is the time to evaluate your results. If you are not 100% happy, please schedule a perfecting session.

BROW CONSTRUCT FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. A manual tool is used to implant medical-grade pigment in the dermis layer of skin. Results last 1-3 years and will gradually fade. To maintain the best results, it is recommended to schedule a touch-up every 12-18 months.

**IMPORTANT* This technique will not look as realistic or 3 dimensional if you are bald or have very little brow hair. it will still look two-dimensional, without the texture of real hair to add that layer of dimension. It is still a nice soft alternative to makeup or solid block tattooing.

WHAT IS POWDER BROW?

Powder Brows uses an ultra-fine tattoo needle and a Permanent Makeup Device to deliver pigment to the skin. This technique helps clients achieve more of a powdered look instead of individual hair strokes. Powdered brows have a soft makeup look and work great for clients with oily or mature skin.

WHAT IS HYBRID BROW?

Soft machine shading complemented with manual microblade hair strokes. The ultimate textured technique is the best choice for those with asymmetrical brows, or complete reconstruction.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT THE DAYS FOLLOWING A BROW CONSTRUCT APPOINTMENT?
  • Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color, sharply defined, or even have a more filled-in appearance. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn but there should be minimal discomfort and minimal redness. Contact me immediately if you have an adverse reaction or redness/swelling.

  • During the initial healing period, there may be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. This is very important! If scabs come off prematurely, the pigment will come out with it!

  • The complete healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.

DO I NEED TO REMOVE MY NATURAL BROW HAIR BEFORE?

No, this technique looks best when layered with the texture of your brow hair.

IS THE END RESULT IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE?

No. In the first week, the pigmentation is significantly darker than the final result. Within the first week of healing the intensity of the color will become about 40% softer. Due to the natural cell renewal, the result of pigmentation will be visible after a period of approximately 3 to 5 weeks.

CAN RESULTS VARY?

Color retention and finished results are different for everyone. Factors such as lifestyle, sun exposure, aftercare, skin type, and skin tone determine how your brows heal. Be sure to follow the recommended pre and after-care instructions to ensure the best possible results.

OILY SKIN – tends not to retain color as long and may need more frequent touch-ups. Often heals looking powdery.

DARKER SKIN – will have less contrast and may heal more solid-looking than lighter tones. The darker the skin tone, the less detail you will see.

MATURE SKIN – can be delicate and thin. It also tends to heal more powdery and lines can heal on the thicker side. Results are very unpredictable.

Note: The final results are not guaranteed to replace makeup- you may still need to use a pencil or powder to create your own unique, desired look. The goal is to achieve natural, balanced brows while makeup-free.

*IMPORTANT* If you are over 60 years old, the effects can be far more fuzzy and powdery, due to the reduced elasticity and low collagen in the skin. Results are unpredictable.
